Post 201 Pulls Out Win in Extra Innings

Worcester, MA --- Nate Frederick drove in the game-winning run with two outs in the bottom of the 10th inning as No. 3 East Side
punched its ticket to the 2011 American Legion Baseball Central-Western Mass. Bracket B championship game with a 5-4 win over No.
4 Chicopee-Aldenville on Monday afternoon. As a result of the win, Post 201 hosts a twinbill tomorrow at Tivnan Field at Lake Park
beginning at 4pm with Post 337 taking on No. 1 Northbridge. The winner will take on the Raiders at approximately 7:30pm for the right
to advance to the state tournament beginning on Saturday.

Tied 4-4, East Side's
Steve Flynn led off the bottom of the 10th with a long single to right field. John Boyd connected on a sacrifice bunt
and
Mike Mastrototaro grounded out to shortstop. Nate Frederick then launched the ball to left center to allow Flynn to cross home
plate and end the contest.

Chicopee-Aldenville would gain an early 3-0 advantage in the top of the fourth. A triple by
Jake Alvaro helped the first run to score. A
base hit up the middle by
Conor OIejarz brought in Alvaro. The final run came in following Brenden McClelland's triple to left center.

The Raiders began to chip away at the lead in the home half of the frame. Mastrototaro's sacrifice fly enabled the first East Side base
runner to touch home plate.

Post 201 tied it up in the fifth. A sacrifice fly by
Regan Aghdam brought in the first tally. Kyle Brenner helped his own cause with a RBI
ground out one batter later.

Each team would plate a run in the ninth inning. Post 337 scored on a base hit to center field off the bat of
Anthony Kmeczik to take the
late lead. In the bottom of the stanza,
Joey Consolmagno tripled down the right field line and made it home on a throwing error to send
the game into extra innings.

Flynn picked up the win for East Side as he threw a scoreless 10th inning and struck out two. Brenner started the first nine allowing four
runs - three earned - on 10 hits and ended the afternoon with seven strikeouts.

D.J. LaValley abosorbs the loss for Chicopee-Aldenville as he surrendered the final run on three hits in 1 2/3. John Sypek faced two
batters giving up one hit in 1/3.
Joe Perlak, Post 337's starter, tossed 7 2/3 allowing four runs - three earned - on nine hits while fanning
a game high eight batters.

Ysander Figueroa led all players at the dish with a 5-for-5 outing and a run scored. Bryan Perez (3) and Consolmagno (2) registered
multiple hits for the Raiders.

For Post 337, Kmeczik went 3-for-4 as Alvaro and Olejarz each batted 2-for-4.
